Who we are?

Where does that Academy come from?

Academy Model United Nations has taken its name from the heritage of Ankara Academy of Economics and Commercial Sciences (Ankara Iktisadi ve Ticari Ilimler Akademisi) which has been founded officially in 1955. New name as Gazi University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (Gazi Universitesi Iktisadi ve Idari Bilimler Fakultesi) was started to use after 1982 but the identity and experience that has been gained from the Academy of Economics and Commercial Sciences, has not gone away albeit the name of ‘Academy’ has been carried for the last seven decades and even today the name of Academy is carried proudly for the member and graduated students. Nowadays with its new name as named Ankara Haci Bayram Veli University by law since May 18th, 2018, AHBVU Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences or ‘Academy’ is going on its educational life with the same proud and as AHBVU Model United Nations Community, we are honored to use the name of Academy for our simulation too, as Academy MUN 2020.

Letter From Secretary General!

Most Distinguished Delegates, and Highly Esteemed Guests,

 

I am sincerely honored to welcome all of you to the first annual session of Academy MUN Conference which will be held at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University from May 14 to 17, 2020. My name is Burak Tunahan Gökalp. I will be serving as the Secretary General of Academy MUN’20. I am a sophomore student and currently studying International Relations at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University. We are really glad to make our dreams come true by organizing Academy MUN’20.

 

Our aim is to ensure a memorable and productive MUN experience to all our participants. In this edition of Academy MUN, we are proud to introduce 6 different committees which are: United Nations Disarmament and International Security,  United Nations Women, International Court of Justice, North Atlantic Treaty Organization and Joint Crisis Committee. While some of these committees will be dealing with modern global problems, some of them will remind you the past.

 

Our Deputy Secretary General Oğuzhan Çiçek and I worked hard and did our best in order to create a conference which welcomes various kinds of MUN experiences. Academy MUN’20 endeavors to provide every participants with an opportunity to negotiate the real world affairs and express theirselves in a realistic atmosphere.

 

Last but not least, on behalf of our Academic and Organisation Team, it is my distinguished honor to invite all of you to the first annual session of Academy MUN’20. We are looking forward to hosting you in Ankara Haci Bayram Veli University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences between 14-17 May
