GA -1 Disarmament and International Security (DISEC)
The General Assembly is one of the six main organs of the United Nations, the only one in which all Member States have equal representation: one nation, one vote. Disarmament and International Security (DISEC) is one of the main committees of the General Assembly of United Nations.
DISEC Deals with disarmament, global challenges and threats to peace that affect the international community and seeks out solutions to the challenges in the international security regime. It considers all disarmament and international security matters within the scope of UN Charter or relating to the powers and functions of any other organ of the United Nations. DISEC can give some recommendations to the Security Council. Although DISEC cannot directly advise the decision-making process of the Security Council, the UN Charter explains that DISEC can suggest specific topics for Security Council consideration.
