NATO: Foreign Ministers Meeting
NATO-OTAN, is a Western Block intergovernmental military alliance which has been founded formally on April 4th, 1949 with a treaty name called Washington by the signatures of 12 charter countries which are United States, United Kingdom, Portugal, Norway, Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Iceland, Italy, Denmark, Canada and Belgium.
NATO was involved numerous military operation in terms of protection all its members permanently against Eastern Block at the beginning and against various threats onwards until today.
Currently NATO’s Headquarter stays in Brussels, Belgium. Organization has 29 members and with the latest protocols Republic of North Macedonia, an enlargement is surely expected by courtesy of the developments on February 6th 2019. As a reminder on February 6th, the Foreign Minister of North Macedonia Nikola Dimitrov, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and representatives from 29 member countries has signed the participation protocol which is currently accepted as the first step of Republic of North Macedonia’s membership.
In the light of this information, in this edition of Academy MUN, we are welcoming our participants to this honorable house of NATO as Foreign Ministers of their represented countries. We are expecting the creation of an effective and respective debate atmosphere in order to seek practical solutions and draw the possible roadmaps of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization for the possible issues that may be happened in the future.
